Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Are roofing estimates free?

A: Yes. We’ll send a roofing expert to evaluate your needs and make recommendations according to your budget and situation free of charge.

Q: Is Kimberlin Family Roofing licensed and insured?

A: Yes. We carry a $1,000,000/$2,000,000 General Liability insurance policy. We are licensed with the Pueblo, Pikes Peak, and Aurora Regional Building Departments.

Q: I think I have hail damage. Should I file a claim with my insurance carrier?

A: If you suspect you have hail damage, we recommend calling us first before contacting your insurance company. We will first inspect the damage to ensure that you are not unnecessarily filing an insurance claim. You will be assisted in filing the claim to ensure the proper adjuster is sent to your property to assess the damage.

Q: Why should my roofing contractor meet with my insurance adjuster?

A: It is essential that your roofing contractor and insurance adjuster agree on the scope of work that needs to be completed. This ensures that you get the right job done at the right price.

Q: When will my roofing project begin?

A: You should receive a tentative project date within 7 days after we receive the approved insurance estimate and your signed contract. Production turnaround times are contingent on weather conditions, our current workload, and the materials required for your roofing project. Please be sure to notify your sales consultant if you have specific deadline requirements to meet.

Q: How long will it take to replace my roof?

A: Most roof replacement projects take 1-2 days to complete. However, this can change depending on current weather conditions, the size and style of the roof, access, and the roofing materials we are installing. To learn more about the roof replacement process from start to finish, click here.

Q: Can you provide pricing over the phone?

A: We do not give quotes or pricing estimates over the phone. Because each roofing project is unique, we cannot provide accurate or even ballpark estimates over the telephone without thorough roofing inspection and taking measurements.

Q: What is a 5-year roof certification?

A: A 5-year roof certification is a verification that your roof is in sound condition and will be watertight for a minimum of 5 years. 5-year roof certifications are standard requirements of real estate transactions. The cost of a 5-year roof certification ranges from $125-$150 depending on the size and style of your roof. If your roof requires a repair, the cost of the repair is a separate charge.

Q: What is your workmanship warranty?

A: The majority of our re-roofing projects include a 2-year workmanship warranty with extended warranty options available.
Repair warranties last 1 year. We only warranty the specific area of the roof that we provided our services on.
Our workmanship warranty covers the repair of leaks resulting from installation defects.

Q: If I install solar panels after my new roof is installed, will my warranties be voided?

A: Solar panel installation shouldn’t void your manufacturer’s warranty, however, you should check your manufacturer’s warranty documents to be sure.

Solar panel installation will only affect our workmanship warranty if a leak or other problem occurs underneath the solar panels or at the footings or flashings of the panels. In that case, it wouldn’t be covered by our workmanship warranty but should be covered by the solar company’s workmanship warranty.
